As a big signpost of where were are going with new and ambitious projects for the remainder of 2014, our Autumn live programme kicks off with an absolutely HUGE show at 229 The Venue, main stage. We're super proud to be hosting once again the wonderful Dunwells, who were absolutely brilliant at their sell-out Borderline show in April, and this will be London date of their upcoming "Show Me Emotion" UK tour. Really cant wait to share this one with you all! - brilliant artists on an amazing stage!!

THE DUNWELLS

The Dunwells… a Leeds based four-piece made up of brothers Joseph and David Dunwell and cousins Robert Clayton and Jonny Lamb. They were drawn together by their shared love of bands like Bon Iver, Elbow and Damien Rice and they’ve been making music together since they first met in school. With one album under their belt and several rounds of successful touring in the US and UK, The Dunwells know their career is only beginning. Stateside views of The Dunwells on The Jay Leno show last year, and over here in the UK on BBC1's Andrew Marr Show this year has really brought them to widespread attention and a global fan base.

Having been inspired to work with producer Steve Harris (Kodaline, Kaiser Chiefs) after hearing Kodaline’s ‘High Hopes’, the band set about tracking Steve down. Joe explains, “We wanted to get away from the Americana sound we had been labelled with, stripping back the acoustic guitars, going deeper, Steve seemed like the perfect man for the job.” The band’s collaboration with Steve has resulted in an incredibly emotional set of songs, heartfelt lyrics and four part harmonies to melt even the hardest of hearts. The ‘Show Me Emotion’ EP will be released on September 8th.

And joining them, fast becoming one of our favourite live bands, from Leeds

CITY OF LIGHTS

City of Lights are a strong acoustic driven four-piece from Leeds. To date they have built an impressive portfolio of songs, shows and relationships through endless hard work but more than anything the love for what they do; their live shows can't help but reflect this. Recent achievements include performances at Leeds and Reading Festival amongst others, Academy venues all over the country and a run of dates throughout Europe.

2014 has seen the band release they're second album entitled "Live and Learn", whilst still extensively touring the country. With countless endeavours and ideas on the table the band are forever moving forward.

Plus, ones to watch, you'll absolutely love this great young indie rock band, highly impressive and a growing army of fans too

KOLO

Originally born as a three piece in Exeter in 2006 when Jon Burnell wrote a bunch of songs about ‘all the tramps and slightly weird people who come into the record shop’, the band played some 200 gigs before being offered a support slot with American band 3 Doors Down after a phone call while Jon was quite literally cleaning toilets. They went on to perform at the O2 academies throughout the UK. Kolo recorded their EP at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales with the EP before embarking on a US tour, shifting a staggering 4000 copies, playing alongside bands including Mr Hudson, The Rifles and Infadels the US, followed up by sharing the bill with Scouting for Girls at Proud Galleries in London.

Their debut album “Do You Want To Rule The World” was recorded in Nashville TN with Chris Henderson from American rock band 3 Doors Down, subsequently released worldwide on May 3rd and followed by a UK and European tour including Spain and several festival appearances throughout the UK.

… plus one of our oldest friends, with a truly stunning new project, sensational at 02 a few months back

LEO STONE

Leo is currently working with Sarah deCourcy on his début album in her studio in Chiswick. Sarah and Leo met when he performed in a small venue in London and since then they've been developing a sound true to themselves.

Leo's influences range from The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel and Billy Joel to Suede, Eric Clapton and Crowded House. He continues to perform around London whilst planning next steps, with an EP due for release late 2014.

This is just the most fantastic live programme, we really can't wait to have you join us for a huge and wonderful show!!
