Ebony Buckle, Simeon Hammond Dallas, Laura Reznek

Piano Smithfield, 14 Long Lane, London

We. are delighted to return to one of our very favourite homes for live music, speakeasy cellar cocktail bar/music venue Piano Smithfield. Steps from The Barbican tube, it's intimate and vibey, and always perfect for a seated listening show. What a great pleasure to welcome Ebony Buckle, who describes hers elf as "if David Bowie and Kate Bush had a baby ..." plus special guests Simeon Hammond Dallas - a quite wonderful artist who truly has her own voice and something to say with it, and Canadian artist Laura Reznek whose thoughtful, alternative soulful writing is delivered by the most exquisite of voices. Ebony Buckle Ebony Buckle is a London-based singer/songwriter, originally from her tropical seaside home of Townsville, Australia. Writing and performing with her husband, musician Nick Burns, who also produces her music, Ebony uses captivating stories to hold a mirror up to herself and the world. Ebony has just released her debut album Disco Lasers, a collection of audio-visual stories celebrating the wonders of our universe and how we as human beings make sense of our existence through folklore legends, science and our imagination. https://www.instagram.com/ebonybuckleofficial/

Simeon Hammond Dallas Simeon Hammond Dallas is a singer-songwriter from London’s Camden Town. An overactive mind and a desire to live a life like a travel montage from a rom-com provide the inspiration for her music; a bluesy country-soul amalgamation. An enemy of dichotomy, her music is soft and vulnerable while packing a punch at the same time. January 2019 saw the release of her debut self released single, Wild Woman. A country-rock feminist anthem and predecessor of the debut EP Manic Pixie Dreams. In 2020 Simeon was listed among the ten top black female country artists to look out for, and saw the release of two singles, Eat and August, ahead of her second EP, Make It Romantic, scheduled for release in 2022 https://www.instagram.com/simeonhammonddallas/

Laura Reznek A self-professed observist and avid people-watcher, Reznek’s music takes up issues of humans and humanity - spinning the ‘why’ of people and what we do through insightful lyrics, swelling chords, and poignant melodies. Although her classical training is apparent in her technique and arrangements, Reznek’s interest in perception is her guide in her upcoming project - a collaborative effort using the ‘found sounds’ of life that the rest of us take for granted. Coaxing music out of pot-and-pan percussion, running water, and city traffic is a feat only the few can achieve - and Reznek has mastered it. Spinning stories of family, friends, and crowds, Reznek’s neptunian orchestration lays bare the human condition in a way all of us can understand through our own lived experiences. https://www.instagram.com/laurareznek/
